Every 1st Sunday in the month at Sacred Trinity we hold a Taizé style prayer service. You might be wondering what this is?
Taizé is an international, ecumenical Christian monastic community in the South of France, founded in 1940 by Brother Roger. It is a major pilgrimage site, particularly for youth, known for meditative, candlelit prayer services featuring repetitive chants, silence, and scripture, aimed at fostering reconciliation and peace.

On the first Sunday in the month we use the style of Taizé worship to help us connect with God and to seek reconciliation and peace. It’s a beautiful service to which all are welcome. If you want a little taster of a Taizé service the video below that we made during the COVID lock down will give you an idea of what to expect.
We know of some other churches that hold regular Taizé services. Our friends at St Ann’s, Manchester hold one on the last Friday in the month at 5.30pm. St Clement’s, Chorlton hold one on the 4th Sunday in the month at 7.30pm. St Nicholas’ Church on Kingsway hold a Taizé service on the 1st Tuesday in the month at 7pm.
