Holy Week and Easter Plans

We are currently working out what services to put on during Holy Week and Eastert and which will be online and which ones in Church.

First we want to point out that on Tuesday 23rd March which is the anniversary of the first lockdown we will open church from 11-2 for people to come in and light a candle say a prayer and write in a book. You will need to have a face covering on and use your own pen. We will be keeping one minutes silence at 12 noon to remember all those who have dies over the last year. A bell will be tolled at 12.01.

Palm Sunday. 11.15am online service. People recieve palm crosses in the post. 5.30pm Evening Service with the reading of the passion narrative.

Holy Week. We are thinking of doing Morning Prayer each day online at 9.30. Monday to Friday. We will have our Lent group on the Tuesday evening at 7pm. We might do an online Maundy Thursday Service and would value your suggestions about that.

Good Friday. We are not allowed to process around the parish but are thinking of holding a simple outside service with the cross at 11.15.

Easter Day. We are not going to be able to have breakfast together like we have very successfully done in recent years and are not allowed to sing in church so our current thing is:

8am early service starting outside of church with a fire and vigil and going into church for communion. Usual covid restrictions will apply and we can only receive the bread for communion. Ticketed on Eventbrite.

11.15am Online service on Zoom

5.30pm Easter Day Evening Service in church. Usual covid restrictions will apply and we can only receive the bread for communion. Ticketed on Eventbrite.

Let us know what you think of this.
